ISUZU MOTORS SOUTH AFRICA AND ALGOA FM DRIVE RECORD-SHATTERING TURNOUT AT BIG WALK FOR CANCER

Isuzu Motors South Africa (IMSAf) and Algoa FM proudly announce a historic achievement: the 27th annual Algoa FM Big Walk for Cancer, supported by IMSAf, drew a phenomenal, record-breaking 21,220 participants across the Eastern Cape, Garden Route and virtually, raising funds and awareness for cancer support.

Despite rain in Gqeberha, the massive turnout cemented the event as the biggest charity walk of its kind in the region, reflecting a powerful and unified commitment to supporting those affected by cancer.

The walk saw overwhelming community participation:

● Gqeberha: 16,000 entrants

● Virtual Walkers: 2,500 entrants

● East London: 1,300 entrants

● George: 1,000 entrants

This year marks the eighth year of collaboration and the third since IMSAf ramped up its support to become the presenting partner.

The company’s deep commitment was powerfully demonstrated by its own internal community of participants.

Since 2018, IMSAf’s support for the Algoa FM Big Walk for Cancer has helped mobilise over 100,000 walkers and contributed to cancer initiatives across the region.

IMSAf Steps Up: This year, more than 2,400 IMSAf employees, retirees and their families proudly participated in the big walk, embodying the company's core values of community support and social upliftment.

Celestin Ndhlovu, Executive Vice President for Corporate Services at Isuzu Motors South Africa, highlighted the significance of the partnership. “We are exceptionally proud to be part of a movement that genuinely connects communities to a brighter future and provides tangible support to those affected by cancer,” he said. “At IMSAf, creating lasting social impact, improving health, well-being, and safety is paramount. The Algoa FM Big Walk for Cancer perfectly aligns with IMSAf’s mission. We extend our warmest congratulations to the organisers for orchestrating such a monumental and successful event.”

Nandi Matomela, Department Executive: Corporate Affairs at Isuzu Motors South Africa, who was instrumental in mobilising the IMSAf participants, added her perspective:

“Every step we took symbolised hope and solidarity for those fighting cancer. The spirit of togetherness and compassion among our employees and their families was inspiring. It is moments like these that truly reflect what it means to be part of the IMSAfsuzu community,” she said.

All funds raised will be directed to three dedicated beneficiaries who provide critical support and resources to those affected by cancer:
