JOBURG DAY 2026... OH WHAT A TIME WE HAD!
Oh, what a time we had at Joburg Day 2026!
I was lucky enough to experience the day courtesy of Samsung, who treated us to a proper VIP experience – and honestly, I’m still talking about it.
From the moment we arrived, it was giving VIP. We had access to the exclusive VIP area, complete with food, drinks, and a great view of all the action. But Samsung didn’t stop there. We also got backstage access, which meant getting a little closer to the artists and seeing some of what happens behind the scenes before the magic happens on stage.
One of the highlights for me was getting to experience the Samsung activation area and bus, where we got a closer look at Samsung’s newest foldable devices – the Galaxy Z Flip8 and Galaxy Z Fold8. As someone who is already a Samsung girl, I was very interested in seeing what the latest generation has to offer.

I may not have the Z Flip8 YET (emphasis on yet 😂), but that didn’t stop me from capturing the day. I was armed with my Samsung Galaxy A57 5G, which came along for the ride and made sure I got plenty of content to remember the day by.
And because no South African event is complete without something delicious to eat and drink, we got to experience a few local favourites too.
We sampled the new Nando’s Gemere flavour, which has been launched this month in celebration of Heritage Month. It’s a fun nod to a very South African flavour and, naturally, I had to give it a try.
Then there was Shesha, a proudly local descriptive board game that reminded me of 30 Seconds, but with a distinctly South African personality. The idea is simple: describe the word, person, place, or thing on your card without actually saying the answer and get your teammates to guess it before the time runs out. The difference is that Shesha leans heavily into our local culture, with references that feel familiar, relatable, and very Mzansi. Needless to say, things got competitive very quickly!
But, of course, we weren’t there just for the food, games, and VIP treatment.

We came for the music.
And Joburg Day did not disappoint.
The stage was packed with some of the best talent South Africa has to offer, and the energy from the crowd was everything. There’s something special about experiencing live music with thousands of people singing, dancing, and vibing to songs that have become part of the soundtrack to our lives.
My personal highlights? Mi Casa, Mörda, and Cassper Nyovest. Each brought their own energy to the stage, and watching them perform live was definitely one of those “Yep, this is why I came” moments.
From the music and food to the games, and getting to play with Samsung’s latest tech, Joburg Day 2026 was one for the books.
So, a big thank you to Samsung for the invite, the VIP treatment, and for making the day extra special.
I may not have the Galaxy Z Flip8 yet, but I did leave with a gallery full of memories – all captured on my Samsung Galaxy A57 5G.
