The world of Okhambeni on Mzansi Wethu’s  Homecoming is about to get even bigger. As the hit telenovela continues to captivate Mzansi audience, Season 2 is welcoming new characters to add even more intrigue to the story.

The arrival of these cast members is set to stir up dynamics within the story and introduce angles that may change relationships, stir old rivalries and introduce fresh stories that will keep viewers coming back for more.

From unexpected family connections with a complicated past, to characters with hidden agendas, these latest additions promise to bring even more heart, humour and high-stakes drama to life in Okhambeni.

Meet the new faces joining the Homecoming family.

  • Msizi Dlamini (34) to be played by Mavuso Simelane (Love, Law & Betrayal) - Msizi is the prodigal son of Okhambeni; a man who escaped the village to build a successful career as a geologist, only to return in disgrace when his corrupt business dealings caught up with him.

On joining the show, he says his character is about redemption through sacrifice. “Msizi spends the entire season trying to outrun his past, he sacrifices his pride, his reputation, and even his relationship and I’m positive that viewers are going to be glued to their screen just to watch Msizi’s journey.

  • MaDlamini to be played by Zesuliwe Hadebe (My Brother’s Keeper). Mother of Msizi and Constable Dlamini (Thobeka Shangase) Makhosazana Dlamini has carried her family on her back for decades without complaint. She raised her two children alone in a modest home in Okhambeni, as a domestic worker to ensure they had food.
  • Busi Nyembe played by Mbali Cele (Is’thunzi), joins the Kubheka family as MaNkwanyane’s maternal cousin and is a nurse at Okhambeni Clinic.

She joins the show as Nurse Busi from Newcastle and says her character is all about loyalty, mistakes and warmth. “Loyalty, because I fight for my family. Mistakes, because I’m human and I falter. Warmth, being there for everyone around me.”
