The 2026 L’Ormarins King’s Plate once again cemented its status as South Africa’s most stylish sporting and social calendar moment, where fashion, culture, and tradition met under the iconic blue and white dress code. This year, Savanna Light arrived in true brand fashion: sophisticated, humorous and unmistakably light... Because while the dress code may be strict, the vibes certainly are not.
The brand delivered a considered, experience-led presence, proving that impact doesn’t have to be heavy to be felt. Anchored under the theme of “It’s Not That Heavy”, Savanna Light leaned into connection, culture, and comedy, meeting guests where they already were - dressed up, switched on, and ready to be seen. And yes, everyone understood the assignment.
At the heart of the brand’s presence was a subtle yet standout fashion moment that heroed both product and personality. Savanna’s Chief Dry Officer, Steve Jobe, was spotted sporting a bespoke designer look inspired by Savanna Light Premium Cider and L’Ormarins King’s Plate’s signature blue and white palette.

In collaboration with award-winning South African designer Mzukisi Mabena of Imprint ZA, Steve Jobe’s iconic turtleneck was reimagined through a Savanna Light lens, familiar but noticeably lighter. The result was a modernised silhouette crafted from breathable fabrics, featuring a refreshed blue and white colour story that nodded to the event’s heritage while incorporating Savanna’s visual codes, and it’s core product POV of keeping it light. Comfortable enough for a full day at the track. Sharp enough for the socials.
The design played effortlessly into Savanna’s sophisticated humour. It’s recognisable, clever and never overworked, reinforcing the brand’s confidence to show up with intention while letting the moment speak for itself.
Surrounded by a curated circle of influencers and tastemakers, the Savanna Light experience focused on building authentic connections through light-hearted comedic moments, rather than commanding attention. The look, the product and the presence sparked organic conversation and social sharing throughout the day, positioning Savanna Light as part of the cultural fabric of L’Ormarins King’s Plate, not just a brand passing through.
By owning the blue and white theme in its own way, heroing its lighter cider variant and partnering with local design talent, Savanna Light once again demonstrated how premium experiences can be delivered with ease, intention and personality. Proving that premium doesn’t have to come with pressure.
Because when it comes to showing up in style, making connections, and enjoying the moment, it’s not that heavy.
