IT'S TIME TO REFRESH, RESTART AND REFOCUS ON NETFLIX'S NEWEST AFRIKAANS-LANGUAGE ROMCOM, TUISKOMS
Tuiskoms is Netflix’s new Afrikaans-language series which launches on the service on 28 February 2024. The seven-episode series follows Fleur (portrayed by Amalia Uys), a chef and mom facing a tough set of circumstances. Down but not out for the count, Fleur relocates to restart and refocus in search of a new opportunity.
The romantic comedy, directed by renowned South African actress Nina Swart, boasts a stellar cast of some of South Africa's most beloved Afrikaans actors, including Dawid Minnaar, Marvin-Lee Beukes, Edwin van der Walt, and the esteemed Pierre van Pletzen.
The late Michelle Botes, renowned for her previous portrayals of iconic villains in South African television, takes on a gentler role as a mother and confidant in Tuiskoms. This casting choice offers viewers a unique opportunity to see the acclaimed actress in a new light.
Synopsis
A widowed chef loses her restaurant and house overnight. She must return to her mother’s home in Wilderness with her daughter. Through the town, its people and a flower shop she starts on a new journey that ultimately sets her free from her husband’s death and brings her to love again.
